I think my vacation officially started today, even though I’ve been here for a week.
… and seriously, I don’t mind one bit being the ‘extra’ set of hands (driver/babysitter/housekeeper/errand-runner, etc.) because that’s what my vacations in CA usually consist of. I fit back into my ‘role’ fairly easily, even though two years have passed since I was here last, and nearly 12 years have flown by since I was officially the family nanny.

Judy mentioned in one of her posts recently that it seems many bloggers are taking a break from writing – all for a variety of reasons. She suggested that maybe we all need a NoBloPoMo (a No Blog Posting Month)…

Every summer I go to California and spent 2-6 weeks with my “family”. I haven’t been there in almost two years (last summer I was sorta tied up getting a kidney transplant) and I’m super anxious to go. I leave on June 9th.

We got home from vacation, yesterday… Home sweet home!
Of course the first thing I did upon arriving home do was unpack, do laundry, give my dogs baths, make dinner, clean out the fishtank and clean my house before I could relax (I’m some form of weird obsessive-compulsive in the cleaning department) and then around 7 PM I realized I was TIRED.

It’s day five of A and I’s vacation in Philly – we’re having lots of fun! Days one through four have been an amazing mesh of nearly non-stop playing (kids = ages 7, 4 and 2) combined with outings for swimming, the park, ice-cream shop treats, wishing-well wishes, mall walking (and WebKinz-buying), sidewalk chalking, and lots and lots and LOTS of ‘decorating’ of various items with stickers.
